PROJECT OVERVIEW:

April 14, 2023 - April 16, 2023

A two-part experiential activation created for Marvel Studios’ Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, marking the franchise’s first-ever presence around Coachella. Designed to capture attention during the high-traffic festival corridor, the experience transformed a legendary roadside stop into an intergalactic destination that felt pulled straight from the film’s universe.

The three-day installation took over Knowhere Depot along the I-10 freeway, reimagining the space with immersive set builds, in-world fabrication, custom photo moments, and character-inspired environments. Positioned as a must-stop destination between Los Angeles and the festival grounds, the activation invited fans to explore, collect exclusive swag, and engage with the film in a highly shareable, real-world setting.

Extending beyond the physical footprint, the project also launched K-GOTG Radio—a two-hour Guardians-themed radio experience featuring music “from across the galaxy,” broadcast live and distributed via streaming platforms. Together, the activations ran for 20 hours across three days, welcoming more than 3,000 attendees and generating 150.8M earned media impressions alongside 30M+ social impressions. The campaign was shortlisted for the 2023 Clio Entertainment Awards, underscoring its impact at the intersection of culture, fandom, and experiential storytelling.
